Green Street Workspace
Green Street Workspace is part of the Newham Good Growth programme with Newham Council, which provides a number of affordable workspace, creative wellbeing space, and public realm improvements to the area. The new affordable workspace is at the heart of the project and will provide 1100m2 of new workspace as a meanwhile and demountable space.
A lightweight two-storey steel structure is proposed on an existing single storey carpark. All-timber cassette research forms part of the project as an EU CIRCuIT demonstrator project. Early collaboration with the design team was key to align the proposed grid with the existing below where possible to minimise strengthening works to the existing structure. A focus on regular grids and material lengths in the proposed works gives maximum flexibility for future use and deconstruction.
