Spitalfields Pavilion
The structure was conceived to give new purpose, and a multi-functional space, to an underutilised rear garden, and consists of an interlocking grid of lapped plywood. Early structural studies looked at the form, curvature and pitch of the proposed structure and the rib layout on plan with the aim to achieve the most structurally efficient system, whilst also being quick and easy to assemble with sensible connections, which did not adversely impact cost or aesthetic.
