Gallery Barn
Set within the beautiful listed barn at Slough Hall this project consists of two independent structures at either barn end providing private performance, reading and gathering space as an extension to the existing nearby residence.
The ‘Chimney Pod’ consists of an approximately 5m x 3m cantilevering exposed steel stressed skin deck providing a dramatic column free curve.
Cantilevers are incorporated on the other decks to allow for opening up of hidden spaces. In both pods the structure is integral to achieving the design intent and we work closely with IF_DO and the fabricator, who is on board from an early stage, to ensure the result is a beautifully crafted integral design.
