Gulabi House
The project utilised a simple palette of materials to transform the downstairs of an existing victorian terrace house. The exposed detailing required careful coordination with the architect and client.
The structure was completely exposed, including loadbearing pink blocks, with no plasterboard used throughout. The embodied carbon of the project was reduced by limiting the use of steel, particularly avoiding the need for a stability frame which was achieved by designing the masonry return walls to provide sufficient stiffness to the property.
