The Findhorn Foundation is an ecovillage in Moray, Scotland who are seeking to upgrade some of their guest accomodation and the office facilities.
We have partnered with Arboreal architects to achieve a design that is truly sustainable and in line with the Foundation’s values who are trying to achieve “Living Building Challenge” accreditation. The structural solution is mostly timber frames sat on steel screw piles which protect the existing trees and offer an easily recyclable design.

The drainage solution for this project is very interesting as the Foundation has developed their own water treatment plant called the Living Machine which treats most of their waste water before releasing it back into the ground.
